Plan your garden
Switch features on and watch them join the plan. You will see a guide budget band as you go, and then we can talk it through together. It takes a minute and costs nothing.
Illustrative only. These are rough guide figures to help you plan, not a quote. We give a fixed written price after a visit.

Materials that age well
We choose a small palette that suits your house and looks better with time. Pick one to see how it looks and wears.
Natural stone
Sandstone and limestone with a warm, varied face. Each slab is a little different, which is the point.
- Feel
- Warm, with a gentle texture
- Wear
- Decades, and it softens with age
- Best for
- Terraces, steps and walls
Porcelain
Slim, even paving in a range of tones. It resists stains and algae and is easy to keep clean.
- Feel
- Smooth, crisp and precise
- Wear
- Very hard-wearing, low upkeep
- Best for
- Modern patios and paths
Oak and larch
Timber for decks, screens, seats and sleepers. It silvers gently outdoors, or we can oil it to keep its colour.
- Feel
- Warm and natural
- Wear
- Many years with a little care
- Best for
- Screens, seating and raised beds
Gravel
Soft underfoot and easy to refresh. Laid over a firm base with good edging, it drains well and keeps weeds down.
- Feel
- Loose, quiet and informal
- Wear
- Topped up every few years
- Best for
- Paths, drives and planting areas
Clay brick
Handmade-look bricks for walls, edging and paths, in warm tones that sit well beside older houses.
- Feel
- Warm and tactile
- Wear
- Very long lasting
- Best for
- Walls, edging and woven paths
Weathering steel
Crisp edges and planters that form a deep rust-brown skin and then stay put. A good foil for soft planting.
- Feel
- Sharp and architectural
- Wear
- Decades, with no painting
- Best for
- Edging, planters and screens

Questions people ask us
Open any question for the answer. If yours is not here, just ask.
How does it start?
We begin with a free visit to your garden, by appointment. We walk the space, listen to what you want and talk through budget and timing. There is no obligation, and you leave knowing what is possible and roughly what it would cost.
Do you design and build?
Both, or just the design if you prefer. Many clients have us do everything, so one team looks after the plan and the build. Others take our drawings to their own builder. We are happy either way.
How much does a garden cost?
It depends on size, materials and how much is changing. Design starts from £950, and most gardens we build fall between £8,000 and £30,000. After your visit we give you a clear written quote, so there are no surprises later.
How long does a project take?
Design usually takes two to three weeks. Building ranges from a couple of weeks for a patio to two months for a full garden. We agree a start date and give you a simple schedule before we begin.
Can you work around the weather?
Yes. We plan the order of work so groundwork happens when conditions suit, and planting happens in the right season. If the weather delays us, we tell you straight away and rearrange the days.
Do you look after the garden afterwards?
We can. Many clients book seasonal visits for pruning, feeding, lawn care and tidying. You also get a simple care guide, so you know what each plant needs whether or not you book us.
